Working Principle

Projection welding operates on the same principle as spot welding:

The workpieces are placed between two copper electrodes.
One of the parts has one or more embossed projections.
The electrodes apply a preset force.
A high electric current passes through the projections.
Heat is generated due to electrical resistance.
The projections collapse under pressure, forming strong weld nuggets.
The current stops, and the joint solidifies under pressure.
